Drunk man with hand grenade arrested in park in Peščenica, Zagreb
Police arrested a 30-year-old man on Thursday afternoon in a park on Andrilovečka Street who was sitting on a bench with a hand grenade and a blood alcohol level of 2.14 per mille.

Zagreb police arrested a 30-year-old man on Thursday at around 17:15 who was sitting on a bench in a park on Andrilovečka Street in Peščenica with an explosive device, and the report was made by frightened citizens. Index.hr unofficially reports that it involved a hand grenade.
Police officers who arrived at the scene found a man matching the description from the report. He had two sharp objects and an explosive device beside him, which was safely confiscated and disposed of.
The man was brought in on suspicion of unlawful possession, manufacture and acquisition of weapons and explosive substances, according to the Zagreb Police Authority.
Checks revealed that there were a total of five outstanding warrants against the 30-year-old at the time of his arrest due to various misdemeanours and criminal offences, and Zagreb police had reported him multiple times in previous years.
During police proceedings, his blood alcohol concentration was measured at 2.14 per mille, after which he was held until he sobered up. Since he had previously been ordered to remand, he was handed over to Zagreb Prison the day after his arrest.
