Arrest in Makarska: resistance, injuries and drugs seized
According to a report by Index.hr, a 26-year-old woman was arrested in Makarska on Tuesday after she attacked two officers during a police operation related to drugs and inflicted bodily injury on one of them.
The intervention began when police officers found a small quantity of drugs on a 30-year-old man. They suspected that additional narcotics were present in the flat that the couple shared, so they approached the woman as well.
She immediately began verbally abusing the officers and then attempted to flee into the flat. Police officers caught up with her and, using coercive measures, arrested her, but during apprehension all of them fell to the ground together. Both the woman and the police officers sustained minor bodily injuries.
A search of the flat yielded results: 5.1 grams of marijuana were seized, one joint, a small quantity of diazepam tablets, one MDMA tablet and 2.20 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.
The 26-year-old did not calm down even at the police station. In the holding room she struck the doors with her hands and feet, which is why police officers had to restrain her in order to prevent further injuries or damage.
During that procedure she struck a policewoman on the head — who fortunately sustained no visible injuries — and bit another police officer on the arm, inflicting minor bodily injury on him.
A criminal investigation has been launched against the woman on suspicion that she committed the criminal offence of assault against a public official. After the completion of criminal processing, she will be handed over to the custody officer with a criminal complaint.
