The Central Investigation Prosecutor's Office questioned the owner and one manager of Hungast as suspects, following allegations that they provided money to municipal decision-makers in exchange for the distribution of state funds.

The Central Investigation Prosecutor's Office brought in Gy. Tamás and H. Csaba for questioning, who lead a large catering company group. Investigators believe the men provided money to local politicians in exchange for their company signing contracts with the respective municipalities for school and kindergarten catering services.
The business, which previously operated under the name Hungast, is now listed in the company register as OrganX Zrt., and its securities were registered on the Budapest Stock Exchange in 2020. Due to stock exchange regulations, they were forced to respond to the prosecutor's action: on 5 June, they published notification that two individuals connected to them were subject to official action. However, they emphasised that no charges have been brought against them and their services continue to operate without disruption.
This case is not unique. In recent weeks, the prosecutor's office has taken action in several similar cases: according to suspicions, organised groups have been systematically paying off local officials for years in order to gain access to taxpayers' money through public procurement, park maintenance, parking operations and other municipal tasks. Despite the billions of forints discovered, so far mainly smaller players have appeared in court.
