Attempting to settle a dispute, a man ended the life of an acquaintance with a knife in Csongrád-Csanád County – the county prosecutor's office reported, according to the HVG news portal.
According to the suspicion, the injured party visited the defendant at his home on Sunday evening with the intention of clarifying a disagreement with him. The two men, however, became engaged in a heated exchange that ultimately escalated into physical confrontation. The suspect then seized a kitchen knife and stabbed his guest.
The wounded man was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, but despite medical care, his life could not be saved.
The Csongrád-Csanád County Prosecutor's Office initiated the preventive detention of the man suspected of manslaughter. The prosecution cited the danger of flight and concealment, as well as the risk of obstructing criminal proceedings. The investigating judge of the Szeged District Court ordered the detention of the suspect for one month.
