Assault on two minors in Brescia park: 29-year-old arrested

In the afternoon yesterday, in a green space in the Lombardy capital, a 29-year-old Nigerian citizen violently assaulted a ten-year-old child. He subsequently attempted to strike another small child, aged only three.

The timely intervention of a passer-by, a Pakistani citizen, prevented more serious consequences. The man, despite having heart problems, grabbed the assailant and did not let go despite the blows he received to his chest. "I was in pain but I did not let him go," the witness told Rai's Tg1 news programme.

A brief video shows the arrested man in a state of agitation while attempting to break free. When the officers arrived, the 29-year-old resisted, striking the police with kicks and punches.

He is currently under house arrest. The charges against him include personal injury and resistance against a public official. The investigation by the prosecutor's office aims to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident and the mental state of the person under investigation.
