Central defender Alessandro Bastoni, who plays for Inter and the Italy national team, has been placed under investigation on suspicion of child prostitution. The measure is part of an investigative line opened by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office into the MA.DE. events organisation agency, based in Cinisello Balsamo. The company's two administrators, Emanuele Buttini and Deborah Ronchi, have been served with an order for precautionary custody under house arrest, with charges of exploitation of prostitution.
The investigation has brought to light a meeting organised by the same agency, to which both a minor girl and the footballer are said to have attended. The young woman has, however, denied any physical contact with the athlete. Similar denials have come from the player's lawyer. Despite these statements to the contrary, the public prosecutors have a message exchanged between Bastoni and Alessio Salamone, a MA.DE. collaborator, which represents a significant piece of evidence for the investigation.
The interrogation of the person under investigation is expected shortly. This legal matter comes at an already troubled time for the 27-year-old: in February there was the disputed simulation in the Kalulu incident, in March a red card for the national team in the match against Bosnia that resulted in elimination from the World Cup playoffs.
