Police in Andria have arrested forty individuals linked to a criminal organisation active in drug trafficking and extortion.

Forty individuals came under investigation following a raid conducted by investigators from Andria police headquarters. The group is accused of managing drug trafficking, as well as carrying out extortions and violating regulations on house arrest.
Twenty-five of those arrested were remanded in custody by the judge for preliminary investigations at the Court of Trani, whilst the remaining fifteen were placed under house surveillance. Some women also appear on the list of those under investigation.
Authorities held a press conference at the Prosecutor's Office in Trani to provide further details on the operation.
