Drug raid on Romagna coast: two men in their twenties in trouble
A joint operation between the Guardia di Finanza and municipal police led to the arrest of one young man and the reporting of his companion in the seaside locality of Cesenatico. The two, both Italian nationals in their twenties, were noticed for their suspicious movements in the beach area.
Financiers from the local Tenenza and urban security officers decided to carry out a check. During the search, five doses of hashish were discovered, totalling almost 28 grammes, contained in a shoulder bag. A precision weighing instrument and a knife were also seized.
The criminal records of the two, always related to trafficking in banned substances, prompted investigators to deepen the check. A search was therefore carried out in the hotel room in Gatteo a Mare where they were staying.
A further batch of hashish weighing 92 grammes was found there, along with four grammes of cocaine and another weighing instrument. The drug had been concealed inside a component of the air-conditioning system.
One of the two was caught in the act of committing the offence. The second was referred to the magistracy. The restrictive measure was validated and the young man was placed under the obligation to report periodically to the barracks.
