According to questure.poliziadistato.it, the State Police conducted an extraordinary territorial control operation in Bolzano during the Halloween weekend, coordinated by Police Chief Giuseppe Ferrari. The intervention, defined as "High Impact", involved elements of the State Police, Carabinieri, Financial Police and Municipal Police, with the objective of countering widespread illegality in urban areas considered a priority from a public safety perspective.

Arrest at hospital for aggravated theft

On Saturday morning, a mobile unit of the Flying Squad intervened at the Emergency Department of Bolzano Hospital, where security personnel had caught a young man who had removed paintings from the hospital chapel. The man, realising he had been discovered, attempted to flee. The officers tracked him down in the hallway, where he violently pushed one of the agents, causing him contusions.

The subject, a 29-year-old Italian citizen with a criminal record, was arrested for attempted aggravated theft, resistance and assault on a public official. On the orders of the judicial authority, he was taken to house arrest at his residence.

Thefts from commercial premises and other charges

On Sunday afternoon, the Flying Squad intervened at a commercial establishment in the city centre for a theft in progress. Officers recovered the goods and charged two Moroccan citizens aged 27, both asylum seekers with a record, with aggravated theft.

Also on Sunday afternoon, officers stopped a 33-year-old Italian citizen at a supermarket, where he had taken goods. A pair of pliers had also been concealed in the subject's rucksack. The man was charged with aggravated theft and possession of objects intended to cause injury.

During the same operations, other subjects were charged: a 23-year-old Italian for resistance to a public official during a check in Erbe Square during the night between Saturday and Sunday; a 30-year-old Italian woman for receiving stolen goods at a clothing shop; and six people, five foreigners and one Italian, for failure to comply with an expulsion order from Bolzano.
