A 17-year-old boy was arrested by the State Police on charges of robbery following an incident that occurred aboard a train bound for the Ligurian Levante. According to questure.poliziadistato.it, staff from Rapallo Police Station responded in the afternoon of Thursday at the local railway station following a report to the emergency number 112.

The young man was identified still on board the train, where he had been stopped by passengers. The victim, a 21-year-old woman, presented a mark on her neck and told officers that the boy had approached her attempting to rip off the gold necklace she was wearing. The woman managed to break free and called for help. Some passengers stopped the alleged perpetrator, who during his attempted escape pushed and attempted to bite the people present.

Once stopped, the young man returned the jewel to its owner. The Police Station completed its investigation and arrested him for robbery. On the orders of the duty prosecutor at the Republic's Office of the Public Prosecutor for Minors, he was transferred to an initial reception centre pending a hearing to validate the arrest.
