Inter player investigated for child prostitution in Milan
Inter's central defender and Italian national team player Alessandro Bastoni has come under scrutiny from the Milan prosecutor's office. The charge concerns the payment of a minor for sexual relations in June 2020, when the girl was 17 years old.
The investigation is part of a broader inquiry conducted by the Milan prosecutor's office into the world of escorts. Bastoni is due to be questioned by magistrates on Friday of this week.
According to reports from the AP news agency and as reported by TV 2, the 27-year-old footballer firmly denies all charges.
"My client is very shaken," said Bastoni's lawyer, Salvatore Scuto. "I can rule out that he has ever had paid sexual relations, let alone with minors," he added.
The young woman involved has already been questioned by investigators. The girl admits to having stayed at the footballer's house, but denies any sexual relations with him.
In Italy, payment for sexual acts with a person aged 17 constitutes the crime of child prostitution.
