Over the weekend, investigators from the Mobile Squad in Como executed four restrictive measures issued by the second-degree court in Milan. The arrests conclude the investigation "Cavalli di Razza", led by the Milan DDA and carried out two years ago by the Lombardy Mobile Squad and the Guardia di Finanza.

As explained in the statement from the Polizia di Stato, the four arrested individuals are residents of the Como province: a thirty-eight-year-old from Cadorago, a fifty-eight-year-old from Rovello Porro, a thirty-six-year-old from Albavilla and a forty-eight-year-old from Pusiano. After being located at their homes, they were transferred to prisons designated for serving their sentences.

The penalties imposed are substantial. The youngest of the group, the 38-year-old, must serve over five years and pay a fine of twenty-four thousand euros. The woman, deemed guilty also of participation in a mafia organisation, has been sentenced to seven years and eight months. The 36-year-old, meanwhile, will remain in prison for eight years and pay a financial penalty of the same amount, having been found responsible for offences relating to narcotics. Finally, the 48-year-old has been punished with five years, four months and five days for being part of a criminal organisation dedicated to illicit drug trafficking.

Two further defendants, both convicted of mafia association, chose to surrender voluntarily at Voghera prison. Both are liable to serve seven years and four months in custody.
