A 26-year-old Albanian, a member of an organisation engaged in international drug trafficking, has been returned to Italy. He fled after the incident in which a local police officer died in Peschiera Borromeo.

A 26-year-old man, an Albanian national, was captured in his country of origin and returned to Italy on 3 June 2025. The man, identified by the initials B.G., was wanted in connection with a fatal accident that occurred on 23 June in Peschiera Borromeo, where police officer Francesco Imprezzabile died.
The young man is among those charged in the 'Icaro' investigation, managed by the State Police with coordination from the Brescia DDA. The judge for preliminary investigations at the Lombard capital issued a detention order on 4 December 2024, which was enacted on 21 January following.
An undocumented immigrant with no stable residence in the country, the wanted man was among the most active members of the group, tasked with collecting and transferring illicit proceeds from drug dealing abroad. Verification confirmed his numerous returns to Italy via Malpensa, Orio al Serio and the port of Ancona.
His role consisted of recovering cash sums from wholesale suppliers of the cartel, active in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia and Albania. Beyond this, he participated in the movement of considerable drug shipments on behalf of the organisation.
The criminal structure enjoyed solid links with the leadership and with an extensive network of supporters capable of organising quick escapes to countries other than Albania. The group was equipped with weapons and counted more than ten members.
The trial with abbreviated procedure is currently underway and the public prosecutor has requested a sentence of ten years.
