A man living in Rome has been reported by the State Police in Fiuggi for maltreating his ex-partner. Officers were deployed following a call to the single emergency number 112.
The woman told operators that, at the end of a quarrel, her ex-partner had insulted her and then grabbed her forcefully, jerking her around. Police officers from the thermal town's police station gathered the victim's statement and activated the "Red Code" procedure.
The victim had already suffered violence from the same man in another incident, to the extent that medical care had been necessary on that occasion.
The assailant has been reported. It should be noted that the accused is, at present, only suspected of the offence and his position will be definitively evaluated by the judicial authority, in accordance with the constitutional principle of presumption of innocence.
