Two 30-year-old twin brothers have been remanded in custody on suspicion of attempting to kill a boy in Fiumicino. The precautionary custody orders were executed by officers from the local Police Station on the instructions of the investigating judge of the Civitavecchia Court, who accepted the request from the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The incident occurred between 13 and 14 June. It is alleged to have started outside a local establishment in the area, where one of the two brothers, who worked as a doorman and is also a professional boxer, made heavy remarks towards the 19-year-old's girlfriend. This sparked a brawl.
The following day the young man received a phone call: he was offered the opportunity to meet to clarify the situation. The meeting place was Piazzale Mediterraneo. Upon arriving at the location, the boy was surrounded and brutally beaten by the two twins, who allegedly used kicks, punches and a blunt weapon, striking him even after he had fallen to the ground.
A friend of the victim, who had attempted to defend him, sustained injuries. The assault was interrupted only by the arrival of a person known to those present, who prevented worse consequences.
