An unprecedented raid is underway in the Tuscan city from the early hours of dawn. Approximately 150 law enforcement officers, assisted by an aircraft, are executing more than forty restrictive measures. The operation is being directed by the Florence District Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office.

The recipients of the measures, both Italian nationals and non-EU citizens, must answer for various offences: from trafficking in narcotic substances on an international scale to money laundering, as well as unlawful assistance with the entry of people from China. Investigators have formulated 130 counts of charge. One measure was served abroad, in the Iberian peninsula, with the cooperation of Europol and Spanish police.
