Milan, 60-year-old man killed in his home with blunt force injuries
An interpreter aged almost 61 has been found dead in his apartment in the Nolo neighbourhood, struck on the head. Carabinieri are investigating the death as a homicide.

On the afternoon of 13 June, the lifeless body of a man aged almost 61 was discovered in a flat on the fourth floor of via Nino Oxilia 11, in the Nolo neighbourhood of Milan. At the scene, substantial bloodstains were found and the victim bore signs of violence to the head, apparently inflicted with a blunt object that has not yet been identified.
The discovery was made around 5 p.m. Firefighters, alerted by emergency services, arrived at the scene after a neighbour failed to open the door with a set of keys. Once inside, the firefighters found the man lying on the ground and immediately alerted the carabinieri, who deployed the forensic investigation unit and called the medical examiner.
The death is believed to have occurred shortly before the arrival of emergency services, approximately at 4 p.m. The victim, Roberto Pietro Guerrino, would have turned 61 on 13 July. According to reports, he was a professional interpreter who during his career had worked for prominent figures including King Charles of England, presidents Sergio Mattarella and Giorgio Napolitano, former prime ministers Mario Monti and Mario Draghi, former United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and the royals of Norway. A graduate with honours from Iulm University, he had specialised at New York University.
The alarm had been raised by a person who knew Guerrino and who, concerned about his prolonged absence, had been unable to contact him. The investigation is being conducted by carabinieri of the Arma.
