As part of anti-drug operations ordered by the Naples Police Headquarters, officers from the Secondigliano District Police Station stopped a 24-year-old boy yesterday afternoon. The arrest took place at Villa Comunale on via degli Ortolani, in the San Pietro a Patierno district.

Police officers observed the young man handing over a package to a buyer in exchange for a banknote. The object had been taken from a cigarette packet left near a table. Subsequently, the officers noticed the suspect retrieving additional material from a street drain and then concealing it again in tobacco packets.

The officers' intervention was immediate. During a personal search, cash totalling 130 euros was found. The seized material included several doses of marijuana and hashish: 8 sachets containing approximately 9 grammes of cannabis and 4 pieces of hashish weighing approximately 7 grammes, all concealed in cigarette packets. Further drugs were recovered from the manhole: a container with 13 pieces of hashish weighing approximately 48 grammes, a bag containing 36 doses of marijuana weighing approximately 38 grammes, and another package containing approximately 8 grammes of cannabis.

The 24-year-old was taken into custody and handed over to the judicial authorities.
