In the late night hours, shortly after 4:30am, a two-year-old girl was taken to the emergency department of the Santobono hospital in Naples. Military personnel from the Vomero company were alerted after tests revealed the presence of THC in the child's body.

The mother, a 33-year-old woman, and the girl's adolescent half-brother brought her to hospital. Preliminary investigations suggest that the boy, who is said to have sporadic contact with drugs, may have left some residue of the substance within reach of the small child. The girl is believed to have consumed a negligible amount.

At present the child's clinical condition is not causing concern: she is under medical observation and her life is not in danger. Both the juvenile judicial authorities and bodies responsible for family support have been informed of the incident.
