A 41-year-old without a residence permit and with a criminal record has been placed under arrest for drug trafficking. The operation was conducted by the State Police in the evening yesterday.
Officers from the General Prevention Office were patrolling the area when, at the intersection of via Luigi Serio and via Toscano, they noticed an exchange of money between the suspect and a woman. The police immediately intervened.
The search confirmed suspicions: the man was carrying 70 euros in cash, in various denominations. The customer, meanwhile, was in possession of a dose of cocaine just purchased.
The 41-year-old was taken to prison on charges of unlawful possession with intent to distribute. The buyer received an administrative fine for personal possession of a controlled substance.
