Murder in Civitanova Marche: neighbour recounts moments before discovery of body
A 62-year-old man was found dead inside his own home in Civitanova Marche. The man's cohabiting partner, a 34-year-old woman, has been arrested and now faces charges in connection with the killing. The account of the neighbour, as reported by ANSA, sheds light on the moments immediately preceding the discovery of the body.
The witness explained that he became suspicious when his wife and daughter noticed bloodstains on the condominium stairs. He then decided to telephone the victim's partner. The woman's response was reassuring: the boyfriend would have been taken to hospital and the situation was under control. However, the neighbour found it strange that he had not heard any noise consistent with the arrival of an ambulance.
For this reason he decided to alert a relative of the victim. Pennesi's cousin arrived at the scene, managed to access the apartment and discovered the body of the sixty-two-year-old, lying on the ground with numerous wounds inflicted by a sharp instrument. Only then were emergency services and police called.
According to what the witness's family reported, prolonged screaming had come from the apartment on the upper floor. Investigators believe that death occurred as a result of an argument that broke out between the two cohabitants.
