A 60-year-old man, an international conference interpreter, was discovered lifeless inside his flat in via Nino Oxilia, in the Nolo neighbourhood of Milan, located between Milano Centrale station and viale Monza.
According to a report from Il Giorno, the discovery was made when firefighters forced entry into the flat, as the man had shown no signs of life since the previous evening. The body was found lying on the floor.
The deceased, Roberto Pietro Guerrino, worked as an interpreter for important political figures, including British sovereign Charles III and former American president Bill Clinton. At the time of death he was wearing women's clothing.
The investigation conducted by Milan's carabinieri is exploring the line of enquiry of a murder that occurred during an attempted robbery. Valuable items appear to be missing from the flat. Investigators are not excluding the possibility that the victim resisted the attacker: in this case, examinations of the body could provide biological evidence useful for identifying the perpetrator.
Among the hypotheses being examined is that of a dispute over financial reasons preceding the fatal assault. It is believed that the killer struck the man on the head using an object found in the house.
