In the Lazio capital, officers from various specialities carried out a high-impact operation in a public housing district. The raid involved personnel from the Questura, the Mobile Police, the Scientific Police, the DIGOS, the Regional Crime Prevention Unit, the Campania Mobile Unit and the Pontina canine squad.
The operation aimed to eliminate illegal drug trafficking and crimes against property, focusing specifically on the phenomenon of publicly-owned housing occupied without legal title. The searches covered multiple buildings in the southern area of the city centre, known for being a theatre of drug dealing and drug abuse.
In one of the buildings searched, a drugs detection dog led to the discovery of 59 grammes of cocaine, 52 grammes of hashish, 13 grammes of ketamine and 4 grammes of marijuana, hidden in common areas. The material was confiscated and investigations to identify those responsible are ongoing.
In parallel, officers supported technicians from the territorial agency in freeing three dwellings illegally occupied. The Local Police also reported two women: the first for unlawful occupation, the second for fraudulently connecting gas supply. A man was reported for breaching an order to stay away from a victim.
