According to tg24.sky.it, Raffaele Stipa, in his sixties and originally from Capo d'Orlando (Messina), was killed by knife wounds shortly after 22:30 on Monday in the Yoghi pizza shop on via Gran Sasso d'Italia, in the southern area of Reggio Emilia, not far from the hospital.
The attacker, described as a foreign national of undetermined nationality, had reportedly entered the shop requesting a free pizza. The pizza shop owner refused: "I've already given you three, that's enough now". At that point the man struck him with a knife. The victim's sister, Antonella, who attempted to stop the murderer, was seriously injured and was admitted to Santa Maria Nuova hospital.
Stipa had run the pizza shop for twenty years and had lived in Reggio Emilia for a long time. According to initial reconstructions, the attacker was a regular customer of the establishment.
The killer managed to flee after the attack. Police are actively searching for him.
