Italian investigators have broken up an Italian-Albanian organisation engaged in drug trafficking. The gang supplied beach resorts on the Upper Adriatic coast, including Lignano, Bibione and Jesolo, as well as several regions in northern Italy.
During the operation, law enforcement arrested 16 suspects. The investigation concerns a total of 35 people. During the raids, nearly 100 kilograms of drugs were seized. Additionally, officers confiscated assets worth approximately 1.1 million euros and three pistols with serial numbers removed.
The investigation made it possible to reconstruct how the criminal group managed drug trafficking to the tourist areas of the Adriatic coast. The authorities are now analysing the connections between members of the organisation and their possible accomplices.
