In the Portici area, in the province of Naples, officers from the local Police Station identified a clandestine cache containing drugs and a firearm. The operation was carried out in the afternoon with the support of canine units.
During a search in an open area, officers found twenty packages of marijuana concealed among the vegetation, weighing approximately twenty-four grammes, as well as a precision scales. Digging a short distance away, eleven blocks of hashish were uncovered, totalling over one kilogramme.
At the same location, a revolver pistol with eight rounds of thirty-eight calibre ammunition, five of which contained lead bullets, had also been buried.
The operation is part of extraordinary services deployed by the Naples Police Headquarters to suppress drug trafficking and unlawful possession of firearms. The material was seized and investigations are continuing to identify the owners of the cache.
