San Stino di Livenza: 17-year-old kills aunt and disposes of body in canal

A 17-year-old adolescent has confessed to killing his aunt in San Stino di Livenza, in the province of Venice. The crime allegedly occurred on Thursday afternoon, but the woman's body has not yet been found.

According to reports from Rai News, an acquaintance of the victim reported her disappearance. On Friday evening, carabinieri forced open the door to the woman's home, discovering traces of blood that had been partially cleaned up. Jewellery and valuable items were still in place, ruling out robbery as a motive.

The investigation immediately focused on the family unit. The woman taught at secondary schools and lived in a historic villa. The brother, father of the confessor, lived in a more modern building within the same property complex. On Saturday night the minor admitted his responsibility to investigators.

The possible motive relates to disputes over inheritance and long-standing tensions between family members. The entire area has been placed under seizure. Investigators are analysing recordings from private surveillance cameras and those installed by the municipality.

The victim's students left flowers and messages at the entrance gate of her residence as a mark of condolence.
