Sesto San Giovanni, 19-year-old boy stabbed in park: three youths arrested
In the early afternoon of 4 July, a 19-year-old was struck by knife wounds in a public garden in Sesto San Giovanni, a locality situated north of Milan. The injury occurred during a clash between two groups of youths.
According to the reconstruction by military personnel of the Arma, the victim was in the green area on via Fratelli Bandiera with some friends. A second group of youths suddenly arrived and between the two groups a violent altercation broke out. The 19-year-old sustained at least two stab wounds, one to the chest and one to the lower limb. Following initial first aid at the scene of the assault, he was transferred by red code to the Niguarda hospital in the Lombard metropolis, where doctors operated on him. His condition is described as critical and the boy is being kept under observation.
Carabinieri from the local Company, who at that moment were carrying out extraordinary patrol activity, rushed to the scene shortly after the incident. They identified three individuals in the vicinity suspected of having participated in the assault. These are a twenty-year-old, a twenty-two-year-old and a twenty-four-year-old, all known to law enforcement and without stable accommodation. A warrant was issued against them on suspicion of attempted murder.
The Public Prosecutor's Office of Monza is directing the investigation. Investigators are deepening the reconstruction of the facts to clarify the responsibilities of each person and to ascertain whether there are any further participants in the violent assault.
