Nigerian drug dealer arrested in Padova: 15 grammes of heroin seized
The Mobile Squad in Padova has arrested a 31-year-old man from Nigeria whilst selling heroin in the city centre. Material for drug packaging was found in his flat.

In the centre of Padova, officers from the Mobile Squad arrested a Nigerian citizen, aged 31, caught handing over heroin in Corso Tre Venezie. The man, who lacked a valid residence permit and had previous convictions for drug trafficking, was taken into custody.
The operation came about following reports from neighbourhood residents who had noticed suspicious activity. Investigators set up an observation post and observed the African man approaching a 51-year-old Italian man. The customer handed over cash and received a package.
Police officers intervened and stopped both individuals. In the package, sold for 80 euros, approximately three grammes of heroin were found. A personal search of the seller led to the seizure of a further 13 doses, for a total of more than 15 grammes of narcotics, plus a capsule containing approximately 10 grammes of cutting agent.
Subsequently, officers searched the home of the arrested man in Via San Marco. Here they found material for packaging doses, partly new and partly already used, with some initials written in marker pen that could help identify the suppliers.
Checks revealed that the 31-year-old had already been stopped in November 2024 in Padova for the same offence. On that occasion he had been sentenced to just over two months' imprisonment, with the obligation to sign in three times a week at the Police Headquarters.
On Thursday 11 June, the Judge for Preliminary Investigations validated the arrest and ordered custodial remand in prison. The seized drugs will be analysed to verify their composition.
