Inter's central defender and Italian national team player Alessandro Bastoni has come under scrutiny from Milan's judicial authorities. The Milan Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation relating to the world of escorts, in which the footballer is reportedly involved.

According to reports from the news agency Associated Press and as reported by VG, Bastoni is accused of having paid for sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl. The alleged incident dates back to June 2020. Since the young woman had not yet turned 18 at the time, the offence would fall under the category of child prostitution.

The 27-year-old player was called to appear before the judicial authorities on Friday of this week. His lawyer, attorney Salvatore Scuto, issued a statement to the press: his client is reportedly "very shaken" by the accusation. The same lawyer went on to clarify that the footballer categorically denies ever having engaged in paid sexual relations, "least of all with minors".

Meanwhile, as reported by the sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport as cited by VG, the girl at the centre of the investigation has already been questioned by investigators. The young woman is said to have admitted to having stayed at Bastoni's residence, but denied having had a sexual relationship with him.

The judicial investigation represents the latest chapter in a particularly difficult period for the defender, who in recent weeks has experienced complications on the sporting front as well, including Italy's elimination from World Cup qualification and criticism received on social media following several league matches.
