Family drug trafficking operation near Rome: father and son arrested, 42 kg of narcotics seized
The State Police arrested a father and son in Campagnano, dismantling a domestic storage facility containing over 42 kg of drugs with laboratory equipment.

According to questure.poliziadistato.it, the State Police dismantled a family organisation engaged in drug trafficking in Campagnano, on the outskirts of Rome, operated entirely within the domestic walls by a 52-year-old father and his 23-year-old son. The two, both Romans, were arrested following an investigation conducted by the First Section of the Rome Mobile Squad, which led to the seizure of over 42 kg of drugs.
Officers reconstructed the concealment system devised by the two to distribute narcotics within the dwelling and structures attached to the property. The searches covered the main residential unit and several accessory buildings within the perimeter of the property complex.
Part of the substance was hidden in the domestic spaces, concealed amongst furniture and electrical appliances. Further quantities had been placed in a warehouse located just beyond the sliding gate, in a metal structure and in a wooden shed. The division of the drugs across multiple points on the property, with different packaging and storage methods, provided investigators with an image of a genuine logistical platform organised to store the various types of substance separately.
Among the seized material were precision scales, vacuum-sealing machines, knives and cutters stained with narcotics, alongside other tools intended for processing and packaging. Investigators also found two sous-vide cookers, presumably used to maintain water at a constant temperature during the treatment of the substance, in order to facilitate its maturation process and increase its quality and active ingredient.
Father and son are now seriously suspected of the offence of possession of narcotic substances with intent to supply. The arrest was validated by the judicial authority.
In compliance with the principle of presumption of innocence, the evidence described pertains to the preliminary investigation phase. A definitive determination can only occur with an irrevocable conviction sentence.
