The case materials were submitted to the prosecutor's office for the initiation of criminal proceedings on 21 August.

According to the investigation version, three men tracked the victim — a man born in 1962 — and then approached from behind. One attacker used physical force and pulled a sack over the victim's head, while another took his bag. The bag contained a passport, bank card, wristwatch and telephone.

Two suspected robbery participants were detained by police on the same day — 27 June. The third man was detained later. All three were subjected to security measures not involving deprivation of liberty.

Criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 176, part two of the Criminal Law — for robbery committed by a group of persons pursuant to prior agreement. Such a criminal act carries a sentence of deprivation of liberty for up to eight years, as well as possible confiscation of property and probation supervision for up to three years.

State Police remind that no person is considered guilty until their guilt has been proved in accordance with the procedure established by law.
