The Latgale District Court has received a criminal case in which two persons are charged with murder committed by a group of people with particular cruelty, killing a man with more than one hundred stab wounds and cuts.

The Latgale District Court has received a criminal case in which two individuals are charged with murder committed by a group of people with particular cruelty. The victim – a man – was killed after receiving more than one hundred stab wounds and cuts, according to LSM.
The Prosecutor's Office informed the public about the case on 15 May. Charges have been brought for murder committed by a group of people with particular cruelty. Such an offence carries a severe penalty under the Criminal Code.
Further information about the circumstances of what happened, the possible motive, and the identities of the detained persons has not been made public so far. The criminal case has been submitted for trial in court.
