Driver with 3.61 per mille breath alcohol detained in Ķekava – motorist previously disqualified
Police in Ķekava municipality stopped an Audi driver with a breath alcohol concentration of 3.61 per mille. The man had previously been disqualified from driving and had served a custodial sentence.

Ķekava municipality police have detained a motor vehicle driver with a breath alcohol concentration of 3.61 per mille, reports Apollo, citing a Regional Municipal Police publication on Facebook.
Initially, information was received at the municipal police duty office from an eyewitness who had noticed a man in an apparently heavily intoxicated state in a shop. After leaving the shop, the man got into an Audi vehicle and drove away.
A patrol team responded immediately, stopped a vehicle matching the description, and upon inspection found that the driver's breath alcohol concentration reached 3.61 per mille.
It was established that the man had previously had his driving licence revoked for repeated driving whilst intoxicated, and had served a custodial sentence. Despite this, the individual got behind the wheel again in a very heavily intoxicated state.
Police have publicly thanked the eyewitness who immediately reported the incident.
