Endziņa case: experts examine cocaine traces in blood and on hands

According to TVNET, at a hearing on 29 May in Riga District Court, influencer Niks Endziņš appeared in a noticeably elevated mood and made comments that had not been observed at previous hearings.

Endziņš — a reality show star, a previously convicted person, and the so-called "father of fake news" — is accused of drug possession and distribution. The applicable article provides for deprivation of liberty from 8 to 15 years.

At previous court hearings, it had emerged that when police arrived, Endziņš fled through a second-floor window. Narcotics, which by all indications are cocaine, were found hidden in a desk chair.

At the May hearing, examination of an expert witness was scheduled. During the criminal proceedings, she analysed the presence of narcotics in swabs taken at the time of arrest, as well as in the detainee's biological material — specifically, whether cocaine traces were detected on Endziņš's hands and in his blood, and how they could have come to be there.
