Late on Tuesday evening, a collision occurred between a light motor vehicle and a motorcycle on Liepāja Road in Jelgava district, in which the two-wheeled vehicle driver was injured, reports the Riga District Portal, citing information provided by the State Police.

The incident was registered at approximately 23:00 in Valgunde parish. A woman born in 1992, with 0.7 per mille recorded in her system, performed a turning manoeuvre in a "Volkswagen" and failed to give way to a "Honda" motorcycle driver born in 1983. The two vehicles collided, and the motorcyclist sustained physical injuries, after which he was taken to hospital.

A criminal case has been initiated with the police regarding the incident.
