KNAB conducts searches at three Latvian hospitals over suspected EU funds fraud
On 21 May, the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) conducted searches at three state medical institutions – Paula Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital (PSKUS), Traumatology and Orthopaedics Hospital (TOS), and Vidzeme Hospital in Valmiera, reports LSM.
Investigators suspect illegal agreements between officials at these hospitals and medical goods suppliers. Such actions could be connected to the embezzlement of European Union funds.
Searches took place simultaneously at all three institutions. KNAB has not yet provided more detailed comments on the progress of the investigation, the individuals involved, or the possible extent of damage.
