During evening hours in Liepāja on Siļķu Street, a dispute broke out involving several people. Two of them sustained bodily injuries at the scene and required medical assistance.
Police were notified of the incident at approximately 21.38. Emergency medical services arrived at the address ten minutes later. State Police spokesperson Rūta Strautniece confirmed that a patrol arrived and identified the injured parties. One person who could be responsible for the incident is already in detention.
Police are currently gathering evidence and examining all circumstances within the scope of criminal proceedings.
Previously, reports appeared online about people allegedly stabbed with a knife in the Laumas district. However, officials have denied these claims — no such incident has been officially recorded. In footage circulated on social media, a man with a bloodied leg and torn trousers is visible, as well as another young man with a bloodied jacket, but police do not associate this material with a registered crime.
