Employees of the State Revenue Service (VID) Customs Administration, while conducting control measures in cooperation with a service dog and its handler, discovered a shipment of marijuana in a Riga customs warehouse with a total weight of 330 kilograms including packaging.
Information about the discovery was published by LSM.
Thanks to data obtained during previous operational activities, the Tax and Customs Police immediately initiated a criminal case. Four people have currently been detained and are suspected of possible involvement not only in drug smuggling but also in violations of the sanctions regime.
The broader circumstances of the criminal case are not being disclosed for the time being, but the investigation is continuing.
