Three people have been detained in Ogre, who carefully planned a fake robbery to conceal the embezzlement of company funds. The State Police have established that the reported attack did not actually take place.

On 7 June of this year, law enforcement received a report of an attack on a young woman near Vecupe beach. The complaint stated that an unidentified man had used force to take a wallet containing personal items, 47 euros, and nearly six thousand euros in company money. An investigation was opened on charges of robbery.

As a result of operational measures, a man born in 1999 was detained. As the investigation continued, it became apparent that the incident had been previously arranged theatre. An employee born in 1996 had previously retained funds belonging to the company for herself. In order to deflect suspicion, she sought help from an acquaintance born in 1991, who in return found another participant — the aforementioned younger man, who agreed for two hundred euros to play the role of the attacker.

Pre-trial investigation is currently underway. The role of each person involved is being clarified and their liability is being assessed. A decision will later be made as to which article of the Criminal Code this case should be prosecuted under.
