State Police have uncovered a staged theft in Ogre that was devised to conceal the unlawful embezzlement of company funds. A woman, together with her acquaintance, staged an assault scene on the street in which €5,810 belonging to the company was supposedly stolen.
The investigation established that this crime was a carefully planned attempt to mask financial fraud. The woman and her acquaintance staged the theft to create the impression that the money had been stolen by force, when in fact it had been embezzled.
Pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing in the criminal case. Police continue to clarify all circumstances and the role of the persons involved in this criminal act.
