Ogre resident cultivated cannabis in wardrobe – 500 grammes of drugs seized
State Police in Ogre have discovered a cannabis cultivation facility set up in a flat wardrobe. A man born in 1991 has been detained and a security measure applied.

Google News LV — Crime reports that State Police officers in the city of Ogre have discovered a drug cultivation facility that had been set up in a wardrobe equipped with special lighting, ventilation and foil.
The search was conducted on 20 August 2024, one day after police received information about a man who was cultivating cannabis at his place of residence. Employees of the Pīrīga Eastern District of the Rīga Regional Division of the State Police took part in the operation.
During the investigation, approximately 500 grammes of dried plant-origin substance, which is most likely cannabis, were seized, along with ten seed packets, 14 empty packages and one cannabis plant. The seized substances have been sent for expert examination.
In connection with the offence, a man born in 1991 has been detained, who has no previous police record. A security measure not involving deprivation of liberty has been applied to him.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 256, Part 1 and Article 253, Part 1 of the Criminal Law – for the unauthorised cultivation of narcotic plants and the unauthorised storage of narcotic substances without intent to distribute them.
The State Police reminds that no person shall be considered guilty until their guilt has been proven in accordance with the procedure established by law.
