A 46-year-old man from Lithuania has been found dead at a roadside in Latvia, after going missing without trace when travelling to Jūrmala. Law enforcement agencies in both neighbouring countries are now investigating exactly what happened.

Ramūnas Maniušis, who lived in Ignalinas district, was last heard from on 12 June, when he left his home and set out for Latvia's seaside city. After that, nobody knew where he was.

Now Utena district police have announced that the missing person has been found. His mortal remains were discovered at a roadside in Latvia. Law enforcement agencies in both countries have launched a pre-trial investigation to establish the cause and circumstances of death.
