Police search for 12-year-old Veronika Markelova who went missing in Riga
The State Police have launched a search for Veronika Markelova, born in 2013, who left from Lode station on 26 July heading to Riga but did not arrive home.

According to lvportals.lv, the Riga Eastern Police Station of the Riga Region Police Department of the State Police has launched a search for Veronika Markelova, born in 2013. The girl boarded a train at Lode station on 26 July at 18.30 with the purpose of travelling to Riga, but did not arrive home.
Veronika is approximately 150 cm tall, of medium build, with light brown short hair. At the time of her disappearance she was wearing a black jumper, black shorts and black Adidas trainers, and was carrying a black backpack.
Anyone who has information about the girl's possible whereabouts is urged to call 112.
