An investigation has been completed in a criminal case in which a man in Talsu municipality was forcibly taken from his property, subjected to violence and left on a riverbank. The State Police has forwarded the case materials to the prosecutor's office for further consideration, reports LETA.

The events occurred on 17 December 2025. Around evening time, three men arrived at the victim's home and, using force, seized him, sprayed pepper aerosol in his face and struck him on the jaw. The victim lost consciousness, after which the attackers bound his limbs and forced him into a car.

The victim was taken to a bathing site, where he was inflicted bodily injuries with fists and a metal object. The man was then left unclothed on a riverbank.

A medical facility in Talsi later reported the incident to police. All three persons suspected of involvement were detained in December, and custody has been applied to them.

During the investigation, it emerged that the conflict was possibly related to the theft of electrical tools, for which a separate report was filed. A new criminal case has been opened in this connection. One of the detained persons was previously known to police in relation to illegal drug trafficking.
