Agadir law enforcement have apprehended a motorist who evaded a checkpoint in the Anza neighbourhood. The man fled instead of submitting to the instructions of officers, adopting conduct deemed dangerous for the police officials as well as other people on the road.
The incident dates back to 9 July. Police from the first Anza district had spotted a vehicle carrying passengers without the necessary legal authorisation. When they attempted to stop it, the driver accelerated and fled, creating a potentially serious situation.
According to an official statement from Agadir police prefecture reported by fesnews.media, it was images shared on online platforms that alerted the authorities. The video showed the individual ignoring the summons of officers on duty on a city street.
Investigators quickly identified the fugitive and proceeded with his arrest. His vehicle was immobilised and taken to a municipal car park, in accordance with current regulations.
The defendant is now the subject of legal proceedings overseen by the public prosecutor. The investigations aim to establish the exact sequence of events and determine what offences or violations could be attributed to him.
