Security officials in Agadir responded publicly following the publication of a video clip on digital platforms. A citizen claimed in the video that officers had not responded to a complaint filed by her husband after a knife assault.
In a statement aimed at clarifying the situation, law enforcement officials said they had examined the case files and administrative steps related to this dispute, whilst guaranteeing the confidentiality of ongoing investigations.
According to the details provided, the situation does not correspond to a complaint that went unanswered. It was rather a conflict between the videographer's husband and other parties, involving mutual violence. The case was handled by units in the Inezgane area, which launched an investigation procedure under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office.
Officials questioned each party involved. On the recommendation of the prosecution, two of the individuals concerned were placed in temporary custody: the husband of the woman who filmed the video and the other man involved in the reciprocal violence.
Other participants in the incident were also summoned to clarify the facts, motivations, and the level of involvement of each person. All suspects were brought before the competent courts on Friday 3 July.
Officials at the Agadir prefecture stressed that each decision taken respects applicable legal and ethical standards.
