Authorities in Agadir have apprehended a motorist who recorded his flight from a police patrol and shared the footage online. According to Le360, the incident occurred on 9 July in the Anza neighbourhood.
Officials from the first precinct had attempted to stop a vehicle. Its owner, who was engaged in informal passenger transport, chose not to comply with their orders. He accelerated recklessly on a busy road, creating an immediate risk to the officers, surrounding motorists and pedestrians.
Through technical analysis and ground-based investigations, detectives tracked down the fugitive in a short time. The defendant was remanded in custody and placed at the disposal of the judiciary, under the direction of the prosecutor's office. The vehicle was seized and taken to the city impound. The investigation remains open to establish all offences committed.
