These sentences have been handed down by Moroccan justice in the case nicknamed 'Sahara Escobar'. The verdict came at the conclusion of judicial proceedings that extended over a lengthy period.
The two men were the principal defendants in this case. The affair received widespread media coverage under this sobriquet evoking the famous Colombian drug baron.
