The International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) has revealed the conclusions of a large-scale operation carried out in November. This joint mobilisation of law enforcement forces from several countries resulted in the detention of more than 3,700 individuals suspected of human trafficking and facilitating irregular border crossings.
Reports communicated by L'Opinion indicate the rescue of 4,414 people considered to be potential victims of these criminal networks. Furthermore, 12,992 migrants in irregular administrative situations were identified and located during this campaign.
This operation demonstrates reinforced international cooperation to dismantle organised crime groups that exploit the vulnerability of populations and organise illegal border crossing.
